Stern king of radio Net quests

June. 28, 2002

By Paul Bond

Howard Stern is by far the most searched-for radio talk show host on the Internet, according to Lycos, getting more searches than Rush Limbaugh, Art Bell and Opie and Anthony combined.

Even Stern's cast of characters are heavily searched online, like stripper Andrea Ownbey, winner of the Miss Howard Stern contest.

Lycos' second annual list of the most searched-for talk radio host names reflects online searches from Jan. 1-June 1.

Losing popularity were Don Imus and the team of Don and Mike.

Fox News TV stars Sean Hannity and Bill  O'Reilly — both of whom have syndicated radio programs — are steady gainers.

The top talk radio stations searched for were WNEW in New York, KFI in Los Angeles and WGN in Chicago.
