Paris' Mom Lives "The Good Life"

From
the womb that spawned wild child Paris Hilton comes a new reality series meant
to groom young girls for the good life.
(We presume that doesn't include training them to star in kinky sex tapes,
indulge in all-night tabletop dancing sessions or go commando in a miniskirt...in
public...in front of the paparazzi...)
Kathy Hilton has inked a deal with NBC for an eight-episode order of The Good
Life, with a possible September launch date, according to trade reports. The series
would be produced by Endemol, responsible for reality offerings such as Fear Factor
and Big Brother.
Described as a real-life My Fair Lady, Hilton would play life coach to 10 young
women who aspire to join the ranks of the ladies-who-lunch set.
The socialite is expected to help the girls navigate through career fields
such as publishing, fashion and cosmetics to determine which industry best suits
their talents--until they meet and marry a rich guy (our interpretation).
Aspiring Eliza Doolittles are to be put up at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York,
owned by Paris' great-grandfather and Hilton hotel-chain founder Conrad Hilton.
The winner goes on to snag a dream job, a car and a yearlong lease at the Waldorf.
Ma Hilton has some previous TV experience under her maiden name Kathy Richards,
having made guest spots in the '70s on Happy Days and The Rockford Files, among
others. She once owned a boutique in Hollywood and still shills a line of home
products on QVC.
Of course, these days she's best known as mother to professional party girls
Paris and Nicky Hilton, though in all fairness to the celebutantes extraordinaire
they are aspiring to do more than RSVP to social events:
- Nicky, the younger sib, has created a line of handbags in partnership
with designer Samantha Thavasa.
- Paris and pal Nicole Richie have turned a cross-country road trip into
the second season of Fox's The Simple Life, set to debut June 16.
- Paris is also scheduled to become the new face of Guess, record an album,
star in the horror remake House of Wax and has made guest appearances on The O.C.
and The George Lopez Show, as well as cameos in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss' The
Cat in the Hat.
Then there's the infamous sex tape, starring Paris and former boyfriend Rick
Salomon. Salomon recently sold the distribution rights to an extended version
of the skin flick, which is expected to hit stores June 15--probably not recommended
viewing for the Good Life girls.
